Retractable Banners
Our popular retractable banners are constructed of 13 oz vinyl or 9 oz polyester and have a solid metal base that allows them to rise and retract smoothly. A complimentary carrying case is supplied with every retractable banner. Standard, premium, and deluxe versions come in a range of sizes to ensure that we have the proper size and fit for all of your trade fair, event, and promotional needs.
Your graphic and messaging can be printed on 13 oz. vinyl or 9 oz. polyester fabric, and our premium and deluxe retractable banners come with an adjustable pole so you can change the size of your display (standard banners include a non-adjustable pole). LED display lights are also available to accent your display. Your next trade fair or event will be your best yet thanks to the retractable banners’ durability, portability, and ease of usage, as well as the professional grade printing.
How to care for your retractable banners
If you set up and take down your retractable banner correctly, it will require little to no ongoing care and maintenance. Retracting the banner into the metal base between usage protects the material (fabric or vinyl) from damage. Additionally, protecting your stand, pole, and light by storing them in the padded case between uses should help prevent damage. As explained in our FAQ section, stains can be wiped away with a wet cloth (vinyl and fabric) or cleaned in rare circumstances (fabric only).
When putting up and pulling down your retractable banner, always exercise caution. Slowly remove the graphic off the base and replace it, keeping it centered on the base. It is not suggested to allow the image to quickly retract or snap back into the base, whether centered or uncentered. If you do so, your graphic and/or base may be permanently ruined. Carefully secure the rod to the graphic’s base and top. Mishandling or mistreating the pole could cause irrevocable damage to the banner, rendering it ineffective.

Use CMYK Colors
In offset printing, the standard color mode used in CMYK. When you are creating your files, be sure to check the color mode as programs like Photoshop by default use RBG color, not CMYK.
Accepted File Formats
We require industry standard formats for all uploaded files. We accept the following file formats: TIF – JPG – PDF – EPS – PSD – AI – CDR.
Rich Black vs 100% Black
Large black areas or fonts bigger than 36 points should use Rich Black which stops areas appearing gray. Rich Black is created with 30% Cyan, 30% Magenta, 30% Yellow, 100% Black.
What Paper to Choose?

What is Font Outlining?
We might not have the same fonts on our systems as your computer, so when saving your files in a vector based program (Illustrator, InDesign, Quark, CorelDraw) please outline your fonts.
Coating Types
We have many coating options at Printing New York including Matte, UV, silk and spot UV. UV coating can’t be written on with pen, but Matte can. Ask our team if you have questions on Coating Types.
