White ink is a tempting alternative for those who wish to go off the beaten track and explore new territories. Instead of widespread and dull black-on-white printing, going for white-on-black is a daring venture, which ultimately pays off very well in the form of elegant, stylish brochures, cards, flyers and other business forms. White printing lends a classy, almost vintage look to your products, making them eye-catching and appealing to their recipients.
However, printing white ink on colored or black background is a tricky business. Most printers serve the CMYK color system, which is incapable of printing white. In turn, those going beyond CMYK or fitted with white inkjets can produce pure white ink but struggle to make it visible on dark paper. That is because white ink necessitates multiple applications to be discernible on colored background; the problem is that numerous applications result in a messy distribution of ink on the surface and thereby a rather poor and disorderly appearance.
At Printing New York we deal with this problem using white foil stamping instead of pure white ink. Not the same though it might be, it creates nevertheless a very close impression of white ink and avoids that messy look white ink is likely to cause. The products still retain the appeal and glamour as if genuinely painted pristine white.
